r there any events in W2k pro i can surely disable or at least turn to the manual initialization? have disabled schedule yet and would like to do it for any other useless one.

If you run SiSoft Sandra's "Performance Tuneup Wizard" it will list the services that you can disable. I prefer not to actually disable the services, but set them to manual. This way the system can call on the Services if need be.

dont know what u do with 2k but usually server, browser and fax services are default and not needed unless u serve or fax

If you want to run w/ fewer services, then create a new account in something like Power Users. You still have most of the options as administrator, but fewer processes are run.
