looking for potent scrubber...
i want to scrub clean my drive of possible cookies that could be recovered.. along with my other temp folders..
curious question ...
say you set your temp internet file to 50mb ...and you browse for a while..
then you decide that you want to change it smaller.. to about 20mb ..
how would you then scrub the old part of the 30mb you once had ? would you simply re-adjust to 50mb again and scrub then re-size smaller ??
is there any program that scrubs the entire free space of a hard drive ?? or are they all specific file location required ?

"Generally" if you use the option to delete cookies and delete files, that does the trick. If you don't trust it, you can always go in and manually delete them. Unless you're doing somthing you shouldn't be doing, or surfing places you shouldn't be surfing, there should be no need for anyone to try to recover those files. If you are in general, 'being naughty', then you have other issues to work out besides covering your tracks.. ;) j/k
To the best of my knowledge (and I'm usually wrong), most of the programs you buy or download simply go to the directory and delete the files for you automaticly. They don't do any over writing or hard scrubbing of the area....

window washer......
does a standard delete, but you can also get it to "add bleach", which overwrites the area as well

well i plan on giving a drive to a friend that he is gonna use on his buisness pc... he also wants to bring his one from home and add it to the network so he wants it totally clean .. there is no worries about bad stuff just important information and history and such that would be horrible if compromised..

ccleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/) Is the one I use to clean all temp files and such.
I use DBAN (http://dban.sourceforge.net/) for cleaning a drive I no longer use. It is also on the www.ultimatebootcd.com
