View Full Version : Changing Windows XP boot screen

I know how to change the Windows 2000 boot screen but does that work the same way in Windows XP? I checked the NTOSKRNL file and it shows the logo but does not seem to be entire boot logo. Any suggestions?

it's not the boot logo, but it does change the logon screen, they look so sweet:D

Sweet! Thanks for the info. Well it's not the boot screen but I would rather change this since the images can be in full color unlike the awful 16 colors the other has to be in.

it was there but now its gone, thats weird, well i only downloaded one, so if you want it i could send it to you, do you have msn messanger or something the file is about 1.8mb so I think it is alittle too big to send over email(hotmail accounts limit me to 1mb) well here is what it looks like

I don't need it but there was a cool tutorial too that I wanted to read and now it is gone! dammit I will keep searching for another site like it.

That angelfire site was temporary I think. The main site is found here: Windows XP boot screens (http://www.digital-assassin.com/~xp/view.html). Right now they had a bandwith problem and the site is down but I did download a few of the boot screens. If you need some help doing that I can tell how. I'll repost instructions if you want....:D

:D Good news. I found a program that allows you to swap out the boot screens. It will not allow you to modify them only change them. Here is the link: XP Boot Logon Changer (http://www.radfiles.com/xp_logonui/)

download the matrix one from my link it has the selector and creator with it. I think it is called login UI or something like that.
