Dear O/C'ers,
i need your help.
i m trying to push an old celeron 366 MHz/slot1/FSB66 to FSB 100MHz,
but it doesn't work.
Mobo = elite P6BAT-A+, SDRAM is PC100. the jump to 100 mhz is done
with a special jumper (JP4) called force100mhz.
so far i have added a second, bigger fan, i have raised CPU voltage to 2,35V,
i have disabled on-chip cache, but it doesnt boot at all.
any suggestions? thanks in advance. AA.

I've heard that it's pretty hard to reach 550 MHz with a Slot1 Cel366. Although it should be easy with the Socket370 Cel366...
Suppose your only choice is 458 MHz (83 MHz FSB).
First of all you don't raise the voltage right now, raising the voltage is for when you have stablity problems in windows.
Try 83 FSB first if it works fine and you can't reach 100fsb then it seems you've reached the limit.

Most Slot 1 Celerons arn't really good for overclocking. I could only get 83MHz FSB for a little bit with my 400. It will not even boot up when I force it to 100MHz FSB. I would try differenet settings, and go with the one that gives you the best performance. Just make sure you don't bump up your voltage to high and fry the chip. Happy Overclocking!
Actually, some of the slot 1 Celerons will overclock well. My old 300 ran at 450 for over a year. The guy I sold it to got it up to 504. The trouble with the 366 Celeron is that not many will run at 100 FSB and 83 FSB runs the PCI bus way out of spec which might result in instability problems. However, those old C-366 will easily O/C at 75 FSB. I don't recommend raising voltage above 2.1v to 2.2v and that's only to help stability. Overclocking and higher voltage results in higher temps which means more cooling mods are needed.
