View Full Version : Which is better...
for Folding;
P/// 700 @ 933 (133FSB) or P/// 600E @ 936 (154FSB)??
Would the higher bus speed help this rig to Fold faster?

I'd say go with the higher FSB... I think folding's more sensitive to memory speed because it uses tons of memory.
I thought that might be the case...lol. I'll pull the 700E and pop the 600E in after work today. ;)

Mr. B did you ever get that XP unlocked successfully?
SickBoy
And how are those XP's at folding?
Just got an email from AMD. Was hoping that they told me I won one, but it was just my bezels. :)
Sickboy, Nope, not yet. Cruising comfortably at 1.7GHz. I'm thinking I might hold off until there's a 266a mobo available with a 1/5 PCI divisor, and then go for it. I can't argue w/ 1702 MHz....lol
Ploaf, This thing rocks!!!! The XP is kicking out just a shade over 2 WU's to the P///'s one, and on the strength of the XP, I've roared into the top 50 on the Team, and more. (The additional WU's from the P/// have pushed me to 40th, at the last update.
w00t! With a 266a board, it'll only get better!
I've put the 600E in (at 927 for now, and I'll nudge it up over the next day...). I haven't noticed any significant improvement in speed. Seems like the frames crank out at the same steady pace... :(
(I need another XP! (just don't tell ShadowÒÓ I said so...) ;) )
