I have a very small budget, so it is either the 6600GT or the plain jane 6800.

I'm aware of the specs of each card.

6600GT
128bit, 500/1000

6800
256bit, 325/600

The card has to do HDTV out @ 1080i, as that is the primary role. It wil be paired up with a AMD 64 3200+.

Question is, which one will do HDTV @ 1080i better, for gaming? Or will I not see any difference?

6800 should be a few fps ahead of the 6600GT. Plus there's a chance for unlocking pipes from 12 to 16 on the 6800.

I thought that was an AGP thing. The 6800 series PCI-e cards use a completly different core. If memory serves me correct NV41.

But I may put RAM sinks on it, and over clock it a bit, but that about it.
