Hey Gents,
Last night I completed my first case mods in regards to cooling. I have a mid tower and only room for 1 80mm exhaust fan in the back so I bought this "TT900 Twin Turbo" thing. It has duel fans and is made to sit in a drive bay and exhaust air out the front-kinda like a hard drive cooler but with 2 80mm fans facing down and it takes up a whole drive bay. Well it wouldn't fit in a bay because it would hit my motherboard. What I did do with it is flip it on its side so now its only ~2" wide and installed it out the back-Dremmel was used. It fits perfectly between the side panel and the PCI/AGP cards-works great to keep video card cool. These are the quietest fans in the case. I now have three 80mm fans venting out the back. These three produce so much air flow that it held up a piece of paper in front of an open drive bay in front. I also installed a new volcano 6 HS on the XP1800. Just these two mods reduced my temps by over 7 degrees on the cpu and in the case. To get as much air flow a possible, I drilled holes in the 2 drive bay covers and placed an 80mm fan behind them blowing in. I now have 2 80mm blowing in and 3 sucking air out and also 2 on my power supply for a total of 7 fans and not one is visible and it still is quiet!
Well that my story on my first case mods and I only had to cut the case in an area that won't be seen and is covered by a plastic cap.
Cheers
