I just checked my local wholesale only vendors site and as of yesterday they have the xp 1900+ for $279.00.
Checked pricewatch.com and searched for it and 2 company's also have it.

Strange that there's been no official announcment.
That would be 1600 Mhz then wouldn't it?

Called my Rep. and verified that they do have the 1900+ in stock and it is 1.6 Ghz.

however, someone should tell AMD, as they dont seem to be aware of it yet (at least they dont say anything on their website).

true these chips are usually just a XP 1800+ wiht certin bridges connected to set the multiplier higher to boot at 1600mhz, usually not an official AMD chip but it might be, so fasr AMD has not annouced any yet

I'm sure over the weekend AMD will announce the release of the 1900+. While I am new to the Forums and over clocking I am not new to computers(my first computer was a 8088).
If you guy's don't belive me go to Pricewatch.com
I am not the type of person to start rumors or Yell fire in a theatre. I AM a honest and honorable man!!!!
well that is cool does that mean if I win at the give away I will get a 1.6ghz chip ;) ?

Well well, were are my manners?
Welcome to the forums.
I didn't even look at your post count cuz I was drooling all over my keyboard at the thought of a 1900+ and 2000+:D
Supposedly, these are REAL XP 1900+'s ($265):
http://www.googlegear.com/ggweb/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=80158
This is probably why the 1800+'s prices are dropping so dramatically.
Hey, am I a real person now?

the thing i dont understand is, why didnt amd annonce this?
werent you a real person one post ago? OMG :D
dmcdaniel54,
Hold on a second. No one is flaming you. We're confused is all. We normally hear about releases before they're available. Now we have the reverse happening.
You're right, the 1900 is on pricewatch. There are 7 entries for it from 5 different companies. So obviously there's some indication of it in the wholesale channels. But there's nothing clear on AMD's site, nor has there been a public announcement. So we're wondering what the heck's going on.
So, welcome to the forums. Sorry you feel it was a rocky introduction. But we're not calling you a liar, just wondering what's up.

As far as the rest of you believe me or not. I am a real person.
Monday will tell the truth as to wether I am lying or not.
I have five children, three grandchildren, and better things to do than to get on the internet and start a bunch of B.S.
I don't understand why you people want to call somebody a liar.
As I said, Monday will tell the truth, and then who will have egg on their face.
As I said before I am not new to computers, I am however new to these forums and overclocking. I am 47 years old and have no reason to start a bunch of B.S.
I feel I have something to contribute to these forums.
However if you guys don't think I do I will never post again.
Sincerely,
dmcdaniel54

This is really confusing for the not AMD guy here, why do they call it a 1900+ when its running at 1600?

dmcdaniel54 Welcome to the forums!!!
Try not to take offence to people questioning you ..We do have people once and a while that come on here to start rumers or give false info (not often but it does happen) so that being said hope that you are not discouraged in participating in the forums.

It is a marketing scheme developed by Cyrix back a few years ago. The PR rating (1900+) just means that this CPU performs just as well or better then the equally clocked P4. Nothing more. The actualy Ghz would be 1.6ghz for the 1900+. This just goes to show that MHz isn't everything (which I have been trying to convince my friend for a while...) My amd 900(OC'ed to 1,054 MHz (110*9.5)) performs just as well and BETTER then his lowly P4 1.4ghz. He think's that I rig benchmarks...games... whatever it takes. Even when I compare how much I can crunch in an amount of time.... a program that was made even before either Athalon or P4 were out.... *sigh* some people are just ignorant :)

i seem to recall that the 1800+'s were out before amd announced it,
this is so they can push a few more of em before they anounce the new ones even though peole in the "know" can buy the bigger ones...
