I hate to see this go unaddressed :).
The geforce 3 models are similar to the differences between the geforce 2 cards, the TI500 being the "ultra" of the lot. The TI200 a generic/MX chip, and the plain Geforce 3 like the standard Geforce 256 card (this is a generalization folks, don't hold me to any MHZ values, quite honestly I've lost track! lol).
The Radeon's are similar, and also impossible to accurately gauge in MHZ since radeon upgraded their speeds on the Radeon 64MB DDR/vivo 3 times, finally ending at a default of 198/198. The Radeon 8500 was originally clocked at 250/250, but they pushed it to beat the GF3... they settled with 275/275 for that (but some have received prefabricated 250/250 cards which essentially are the same card underclocked). The 7500 is clocked slightly lower but offers the same features, like a nvidia geforce 3 MX/TI200. The Radeon 64MB DDR/vivo line would be equal to the Geforce 2 lineup (actually competes with the geforce 2 Pro).
Hope that by stating the basic differences and not merely quoting raw numbers this helps.
