I've tryed fraps, but it leaves me with a near to 1GB file that is about 3mins long and 640x480, which isnt usable due to file size.
so i would liek to capture at that res, but i was thinking maybe like 10MB per 1 min of video, with sound would be great but if not thats ok too. help me out please :)
i wanna make some bf2 videos and nfs:mw.

I dont belive a program that you want exists because it would have to take 30 shots per minute and then convert them into video and compress it at the same time.
I dont know if battlefield has a demo command that takes the direct game stream and saves it in a very small format like Half-Life will (mainly Counterstrike).

I use Fraps all the time, and to utilize it most effectively I just open windows movie editor and save it at a different bit rate it DRASTICALLY drops the size of the file (as well as changing reso). Also 1gb only lol!? Yesterday I recorded around 18GB (deleted the majority of bad footage) , then again with full version of fraps I can record at a higher reso.

u can use fraps, then us a converter to turn it into a smaller file (ashampoo movie shrink and burn works a treat :D ) i can get a 5 min bf2 vid down to 10-15MB

at least you can use it... it wont even capture full frame when i play. But it is the best ingame capture program i have found. Just let it get huge then compress it using windows media player or something like that.

oh yeah duh haha i just got a video editiong progy :) thanks.
fraps if you can get a registered version and a decent converter, is the best out there, imho.
btw, if you want to make a video using BF2, why not use battle recorder? Or do you want the output to be a video file?

Too lazy to figure out EA's mumbo jumbo lol, and I like having all my videos be the same format and size.
Like I said if you dont plan on editing it just use Windows Movie editor (assuming your running windows) and import the clip, drag it to timeline, and save video as whatever format you want for resizing.

This is one place where having dual cores could help. It would add little additional stress to a dual core system render to a memory buffer and have your other core converting the video into mpeg2 in realtime. It would have to be a damn efficient compression algorithm though I think or a really fast processor to keep up with anything higher than 320x240
