Title.

Also, if not, which flavour should I choose?

I'm thinking of the XFX Overclocked one, since it's cheaper than all of the other ones on NCIX. However, I'm also thinking of the eVGA CO SC one because it looks pretty speedy

the OC SC can be had for $319, very fast :)

also as long as your 3300+ is ocd id say its ok.

Well, looking at benchmarks throughout abajillion sites, and there doesn't seem to be much of a difference. They all reach 490/1410ish speeds, except for one SC which had 466/1370

Is there any difference between XFX/BFG and eVGA SC cards?

Also, more opinions on the bottleneck question would be nice because I'm not going to buy another CPU, and I could just as easily buy a 6800GS if not for the extra shading and stuff

Also, Mem Timings are in my sig, and my CPU speed is 1.8ghz (200x9)

I read where a CPU won't get bottlenecked unless you have two in sli.
Read in a mag.

I think the difference is with the warranty. eVGA is about 2 years. OC friendly too.

Bamp. Just need one more opinion if it's going to bottleneck or not

EVGA's warranty is 1 year per their website (it's hidden, you must dig). BFG's is 'limited lifetime.' I just bought the BFG 7800 GS for this very reason.

FYI, XFX's warranty is 2 years (according to ZZF).

Regarding scaling, I think this page will answer your questions:

To answer you original question. Yes. Your CPU is a bottleneck. Heck, even my CPU will bottleneck it :)

I wouldn't worry bout bottlenecking, unless you have an A-XP or ANY Intel proc. (just kidding!) or soemthing, I don't think it's gonna be all that bad.

I don't want to waste $ if I can just buy a 6800GS though

Anyways, I am going to be getting the 6800

Warranty is lifetime, warranty also covers changing of stock heatsink and overclocking like you already said, that being said, i think eVga is the best card manufacturer atm, great warranty! Most of you i'm sure would normally slap on a silencer or zalman and overclock the card, why not have it covered under warranty! eVga rocks, period.

Sinces June 22nd 2005, eVga has had a Lifetime warranty:
http://www.evga.com/support/lifetime/

Guess you didn't dig very much now did you? prior to that they had a "1+1" warranty, meaning 2 years... you had to register on their website to get that extra +1 year however, so where did you get your info?

XFX is a lifetime warranty too, double lifetime to be exact:
http://www.xfxforce.com/web/support/showWarranty.jspa?regionId=1&productGenerationId=40

Again.. i question your sources, why wouldn't you go to www.xfxforce.com and read their actual warranty info?

You also say that you bought the BFG for the warranty, well if you actually DID "dig" on www.evga.com then you would know their warranty IS lifetime and they cover overclocking, and chaning of the stock heatsink, that is... just.. WOW, eVga rocks. My next card will definately be an eVga.

Whoa! In my post I told you EXACTLY where I got my info--gave you a link to the evga website, in fact. Now, I may HAVE been wrong--I'm a big enough man to admit that, but cut the attitude--we're all here to help someone make a good decision.

Regarding EVGA's warranty, I stand corrected. However, EVGA is guilty of leaving incorrect info up on their website. If you click on my link it says that they have a 1-year warranty. Period.

And I did say that XFX had a 2 year warranty. And again, if you'd read my post instead of going all loopy you'd see that I got my info from ZZF (zipzoomfly.com)--again clearly noted in my post. Here's the exact link:
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=321041
ZZF doesn't sell the 7800GS from XFX, and I trusted that the warranty would be the same across their product line. The link you gave says that their warranty is lifetime across 6 and 7 series cards. Reputable dealer, but wrong in this instance. Again, you're right and I stand corrected.

I also clearly stated my bias against EVGA and why. You know, I don't like giving bad information--but I really value that most folks here in the forums have a good sense of community and they will correct someone politely.

Erm...most.

I said it's a "1+1" year warranty, read the warranty policy, if you don't register on evga.com then it is only a 1 year warranty, but why wouldn't you register and get another year free? I did ask though, why did you get the info from ZZF, and not from xfx, aka straight from the horses mouth?

Sorry for sounding harsh, but in all reality, get the facts straight before you go posting links to things that aren't true.

XFX: If you don't want to overclock yourself
eVga: hands down if you are going to do overclocking

no it wont bottleneck this card, many people confuse bottlenecking with the fact that a PC with for instance a 7800GT and an AMD 64 3000+ will score lower then the same card with a 4000+. This is because benchies like 3dmark factor in your CPU score with your GPU to score you, hence of course your scores will be higher since the 4000+ is by definition superior to the 3000+. Your CPU in most cases, is not somehow "slowing" the card, it will still perform as good as it would with a better CPU. Now, granted in games the same thing can happen, the CPU may be stuck processing physics while the graphics card is working at only 80% capacity. Does this mean you should get a worse graphics card? Thats up to you, but remember depending on the game it may be more reliant on your CPU or GFX card.
