Well I had to switch over to the reference 21.83 drivers on my Geforce Pro card because Dark Age of Camelot looked all screwed up. I have the Leadtek card and was using their drivers because it provided hardware sensoring and overclocking. Since I'm using reference drivers now I don't have that ability. I'm wondering if Coolbits still work for the latest nvidia drivers? I know I'd read here that some people were having problems with it but I can't seem to find those posts unless they are related to XP. I'm still using Windows 98 SE.
Yes coolbits work with the 21.83 drivers.

I have an Elsa Gladiac Geforce2 GTS with Coolbits working fine with the 21.81 drivers and Win98 SE. I tried the 21.83 and .85 drivers with Coolbits and it worked. I've had to reapply Coolbits with each driver change. Godspeed

Thank you very much for your quick reply.
Usually I've heard just Coolbits conflicts with the MX cards since a large variety of members at Oc.com have this problem.
the most common issue concerning coolbits lack is about geforce2 mxs and w98. im running w2k now and coolbits work fine with my mx, at w98 time i would only be albe to overclock it using powerstrip.

Well finally got around to giving it a shot and it didn't work. Downloaded Coolbits from Pinky's files and installed and rebooted and don't have the overclocking tab. Can't seem to find it anywhere. Oh well. Was gonna test it out before I reformated my computer.

Okay one question about Nvmax. How do I make the overclocking settings stay after a reboot? I changed them and it did the little screen flash thing but I always figured you then needed to reboot. I rebooted and planned on testing but the settings were back to default.

nope, when the screen flashes you are overclocked, and it has a little box to check asking whether you want to save settings on oc....do not reboot after oc....

there is a checkbox in the same window where you choose to apply the settings at startup: check it and youll see the overclocked numbers being registered to initialize.

Well now there is another problem. When I was using the drivers that came with the vid card I was able to get my GPU to about 220 and my Memory to about 460. Absolutely no problems. Well I had to put new drivers in because those drivers didn't work with Dark Age of Camelot. I went to the nvidia 21.83 drivers. Using NVmax I can't seem to get over 210/450 without a problem. It's not a life or death problem. My computer still runs and all it's just at boot my little taskbar that comes with Liveware 3.0 and Sound Blaster crashes. It's called Ctlauncher or something like that. Stopped overclocking my computer to see if that was it but it still crashed while the vid card was o/c.
Apparently those drivers don't do well or something.

Well this is weird. Before I started messing with all of this and was just overclocking the drivers that came with the board, I was getting about 5100 in 3DMark2000 with my Celeron 900@1125. Went to the 21.83 reference drivers and using NVMax at 220/460 I was getting about 4900 in 3DMark. Was having the crashing problem so underclock the celeron and the vid card to troubleshoot. Now have the Celeron back at 1125 and the vid card back at 220/450 and I'm getting 3900's in 3DMark. Something is amiss and I can't figure it out. Don't think 10points in memory would cause such a drastic change.

Downloaded coolbits?
I didn't download anything. I did the registry hack found at Anandtech's how to guide. I got the coolbits tab but it won't function. Must be that 98se2 and GF2mx problem.
Here is what I did:
By now you’ve probably heard of NVIDIA’s ‘CoolBits’ overclocking switch in the registry to enable their overclocking utility. Like every other company, NVIDIA doesn’t officially support overclocking their cards, but they do provide us with this “hidden” (obviously not very well) utility that allows us to do just that. Here’s how you enable it:
To gain access to core and memory overclocking utilities, simply run Window's registry editor (regedit) and perform the following steps:
1. Open the key, [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\] by navigating down to it in the left hand pane.
2. Add a new key named "NVTweak".
3. Go under this new key and add a new DWORD value with the name "CoolBits".
4. Double click on CoolBits in the right hand pane and set the value to 3 with a hexadecimal base.
5. Reboot
I am downloading nVmax now.
