I paid about $50 for this when it first came out, for those of you who are running stock cooling, UPGRADE TIME! Looks and performs great, plus you can choose between an 80mm or 92mm fan. "Compatible with Sockets: 478, 754, 939, 940"

Great price on that, shame i just got one of those stock heatpipe coolers off the higher end x2's and fx60's.As per that madshrimps review, the new stock opteron/X2 heatsink is just as good as the XP-90 anyway (when using the same 80mm fan that is). Doesn't sound like you're missing much imho.

That one guy on ebay still has a bunch in stock for $15 shipped btw.

Edit: actually, it looks like he's sold out now, hmm must have hit a bunch of hot deal forums...

good deal, and pretty normal price..
now if you can snag a xp120 for the same price, then well, that would be a killer deal...

You guys got to keep this next one QUIET ok? shhhhh.....;). This other ebay merchant is accepting offers on the correct X2 heatsink (the good one with the "H" shaped copper base). I offered him $5 but he declined with a counter offer of $8......$8 + $9.95 ship= $17.95 total....Def the current best price on this particular X2 heatsink. You have to click "BuyItNow", then change the price to $8 upon checkout. The way you change the price is upon checkout you have to look for the "dealer -+ discount box" below your subtotal, then subtract -$4.95 from the price to reach the $8 amount, add in $9.95 shipping and you have an X2 heatsink for $17.95 shipped. He has 6 left atm: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6846443670&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBOFF%3AIT&rd=1

I'm pairing this up with either a cheap Monarch Sempron64: http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=M&Category_Code=AMDsempron , or an Outpost Sempron 3100+ barebone for $89: http://shop3.outpost.com/product/4705559?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG (the outpost sempron 3100+ is the 130nm 32bit variety). Outpost also has a retail Sempron64 2800+ 90nm barebone combo for $79: http://shop3.outpost.com/product/4674248?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG . That bundled ECS NF3 mobo is a known good overclocker that easily hits 250HTT via bios or even up to 300HTT with windows-based overclocking software (i have read). Check out the six xbitlabs sempron reviews to see how fast overclocked semprons really are ;).

The new AMD HSF w/ four heatpipes is good. I use one to cool my opty 144 and it does well.

This review shows the AMD heatsink is a little better. They used the fan off the AMD heatsink on the XP90 though. If you put a better fan on the AMD it will be even better.
