Just wondering, I have a few hookups at ATI, and got a x1800XL for free, and was wondering if I should get another and run it in XFire, or sell the x1800XL and buy a single x1900XT

ps. I can't get any more cards free, but can get a pretty good discount...

I agree. One good card just makes more sense. I would be happy with just one 1800xl, but that's me.

I don't believe there is an XL Crossfire master card..... so you'll have to get the 512mb XT version. Running crossfire with a master card and XL really doesn't make a whole lot of sense (the master card will not use all 512mb of ram coupled with a 256mb card). Plus you have to get a crossfire board. Then you still have to regulate two cards instead of one...... see where I'm going with this?

The X1900XT is more logical. Your not spending nearly as much as with the X1800XL and the X1800XT Master Card, and it will be faster weather or not the card clocks well. Besides its going to be using less power then the 2 cards combined. Its truely a easy choice take the X1900XT or even go for the X1900XTX if you go money to spend.

plus if you sell the xl..you will pick up the 1900xt for a great price after the money added..
