1.4@1.502 (143x10.5)
134/136F full load
123F idle..
75F room/case temp
some ppl are gonna say thats hot... but the sink is brealy even warm. :)
Umm..that is warm the heatsink not getting warm is a problem it should get very warm.

yea, i know.. the alpha 8045 is big tho... so i dunno..
Congratulations!
Yeah that is hot. I've got my computer set to shut down at 140. I get nervous at 125. But a lot depends on the way the mobo is reading the temps. You've got a good heat sink. I'm guessing Nanotherm is a brand of thermal lubricant? If you just put your heatsink on, it can take a day or so for the lubricant to achieve maximal effect. At least that's the way it is on my set up with Radio Shack stuff. Do you have any temps form stock setting to compare it with? I'd try playing around with airflow and the direction of the fan, I bet you can do a lot better than 136 full load with that sink.

Over 50c idle is high, something does not sound right to me.
A sk6 was giving me 45c with 85f room temp on a 1.4 @ 1550 this summer.
At least it didnt burn up but I would consider checking with someone with the same heatsink and see what they are getting for temps.

geez im shaking now... i want more mhz ! im gonna up my cpu fan to 39cfm to 51cfm soon.. so i hope that will help a lil.. but im still glad i gained a 102mhz.. 136F maybe high right now.. but ill probly get higher in the morning whne it gets hot.. so ill probly have to watch it.. i might set it to shut down at like 145F or so.. so to be safe.. im always at 100% load cuz i run a thing like floding 24/7.. so that makes it 10-12F hotter.. well i think ill live at 136F
I would bet your heatsink is not making 100%contact with the cpu core. Get it straightened out and you will also be able to oc further.
You might want to thru read this article you might find something in it helpful

Well the 8045 is one of the best rated heat sinks out there right now. SO you should be able to do better with it. I'd double check the setup just to make sure everything is seated properly. Also make sure you've got adequate case ventilation. The 51cfm fan should help a lot, but it still seems like you should be doing better than that with that heat sink.
In the meantime, don't panic, your chip won't blow up at 136. But running it that hot means you won't overclock as well and you'll decrease the life of your chip a bit. Of course long before it wears out, you'll probably replace it with the newest AMD backhoe 4000+. (where on earth do they come up with these names?)

Generally the heatsink not gettng warm is a sign that its not pulling heat off the core correctly, not getting propper contact or somethings wrong with the thermal grease.

Is that a real processor? or did u make that up?
well im useing nanotherm thermal paste.. im gonna order some AC2 soon.. and see what works better.. and ill also work on the heatsink placement.. im getting a window kit next week, and im gonna mod that in my case with some fans.. ill make a blowhole to blow on the cpu.. and ill probly buy the highest cfm fan and rig a reostat so i can dial it in when i need to higher cfm, or less sound.. just getting short on cash :( heh ill figure it out.. remember im not new to mods/cooling that much, but this is my first day of oc'n.. i still think its good.. so any idea's are welcome..
thanks

I made up the name as a sort of parody of clawhammer. ;)
Have you double checked the seating on your 8045? As I recall that hooks directly to the mobo. I've never used that sort of system, just make sure you're getting plenty of contact. Switching to AS2 should give you somewhat better temps. But even with your current setup you should be doing better than you are. Somethings not right in the connection between the CPU and the Heatsink.

You'll most definitely need a higher-rated fan than thirty-some CFM for that heat sink. I have an 8045, and have just ordered a 68CFM Delta for it. It takes a lot of air movement to sufficiently draw air around all those pins. There are so many of them on this heat sink and are so densely packed, that not enough power on the fan's part will result in less-than-perfect heat dissipation.
It really is a nice setup. If the four mounting screws are installed correctly, and the four spring-loaded bolts are bolted down all the way, it's almost a foolproof mounting procedure. I've noted mine stays very even, and I've checked contact by peeling the Heat sink off the CPU - as desired, most of the AS2 is squished off the die, leaving the very thin film it needs between the die and heat sink.
I can also run my 1.4 Athlon for quite a while with that heat sink with no fan - really good heat sink.
Okay I have the 0845
first thing is use the extra washers if you have them! one or both extras if you can. 140F=60C which is too hot for anything and I would be a little scared cuz it is winter and in the summer add another 5C for 65C.
second make sure the fan is blow away from the heat sink that is how it is designed. take a look at the new deltas with three fins they are just as good but not half as loud. read kick ass fans not sold in US for about a month.
third apply very thin layer of thermal compound.
also what is your vcore at 1.5 try lowering it.

well my bios dont go lower then 1.775.. even when i put it at that, my vcore stays at 1.84~1.86.. and theres suppose to be a dip switch on my mobo to change the voltage from 1.5~1.95 but its not there.. so im gonna call gigabyte on monday and see whats up..
