Well i finally cant hold out any longer and am going to go get WoW tomorrow! Im hoping its as good as i think it will be, also any tips i should know when i start out?

It's on the Illidan realm (server) and on the Horde side. Take a look at WoW's website and read through all of the info on races and classes. That's the best way to decide what you want to be. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.
Be prepared to be disapointed. LOL I tried Wow and I could not stand it. Hope you have a better experience.

Well i loved guild wars and i think its somewhat based off of WoW, so i should like it, i think.

My advice is too find a group of people to play with and have fun...you dont need a group to play through the lower levels but its more fun and you might need help :p
oooo and Horde > Alliance :p

Oh man this is crazy deciding who i want to be, but ive narrowed it down to human, dwarf, and orc. Any pros/cons to each?

If you are planning to play on a pvp server you can only make characters of one faction on so no horde and alliance... so if your planning to play with OCG which is made up of a lot of ppl from these forums you should pick Horde. As for Orcs im not to familair with em. Taurens have a good racial ability as do the undead they are prolly the two best sides of the horde. As for alliance I am not the person to ask... :p

I want to do all the missions and exploring, so that wouldnt be PvP right? In GW PvP was just fighting, is it the same in WoW?

In WoW PvP server you can only fight people of the opposing faction in certain zones. You can duel ppl in your own faction but you cant kill eachother in duels. There is a certain place in one zone that is FFA where you can kill anyone though. The first few lvls, maybe up to 20, you are in your own territory so you dont have to worry about the other faction attacking you but after that they prolly can. PvP isnt that bad sometimes youll have lvl 60's in 20-40 zones just causing trouble but its usually not that big of a deal...you can do the same amount of exploring and pve content on a pvp serer that you could on a pve server...

Oh man this is so confusing, i chose the dwarf hunter and am now in some camp and have no idea what to do. One thing is how do i get 1280x1024? All it says is 1280x768.
*EDIT* NVM the 1280x1024 was just down some rez's. :)
Shoulda gone horde on illidan. Being in OCG was so helpful when I started because people would tell me stuff i didn't know.

WOW should be at my house by tuesday... I think Ill have alot of fun because alot of my friends are addicted to WOW and Im looking foward to the teamwork involved in the quests.

Mining Enginneering, FTW! No matter what class you pick for enginneering, from my experiences no other professions are as fun or helps as much in PVE and PvP.

Or, if you want alot of money, be a miner skinner. In 2004(when I played), I'd make tons of money just buy skinning and mining and selling the skins and ores.

DON'T BE A ROGUE!!! As fun as that class is, everyone and their mother is a rogue and you'll have a really hard time finding groups.
