Hi Everyone,

Just putting together my 2ND build. Below are the specs not sure what my best options for Memory are as the Pentium 3.6E is a SL7J9 (D0 LGA775) which can change the multiplier. Thanks for any advice on which rams will be best for this. Will be OCing this to the Max on AIR!

Specs:

P 3.6E
Abit-NI8 SLI
GeForce 6800GS
Heatsink-Big Typhoon
PS-600W
2X-DVD RW Sony
CASE XION W-3 120M Fans
HD-WD2000JS 200GB SATA
Sound On Board 4 Now

Might be adding another 6800GS as it has the SLI

Thanks for any Help

As far as general advice, I find that late-model prescott cores are good for 4GHz 9 times out of 10, with a few bad ones less and an equally few good ones more. 4GHz only requires 222fsb with your chip, so the strain on the ram will be minimal. Even if you get to 4.4GHz that's only 245MHz, so if you run in 1:1 mode any good grade of PC4200 or greater should do fine. Do look for minimal latency ratings like 3-3-3-8 rather than the garden variety 4-4-4-12, but also understand this factor has minimal affect in most apps.

If you want more specific advice I really can't give it as I haven't had that board or any Nvidia board to base an opinion on. Running 1:1 mode at minimum latencies is the biggest factor for these chipsets though, and that should be a cinch with any good quality DDR2. If you get really good stuff you will improve your system's performance slightly, but only slightly.

Thanks for the responce, Ill be building this SLI/N board and will be posting on it after some OCing and benchmark test. Im abit suprised that not many are trying this board?

We will see how well it runs.

i'd recommend pqi turbo pc5400 2gb kit (4-4-4-12). pc5400 is 333mhz, if you're running 14x multi (lowest) and oc to 5ghz you'll be at 286fsb so on a 1:1 divider or even higher you'll be fine. 2gb is well worth it over 1gb and that pqi is nice and cheap.

have fun with that d0 on air by the way, those are heat monsters.
