You can have UI mods and what not....mods that allow you to attack and farm stuff while afk are illegal and there arent many if any of those.

As for the UI mods I use Flexbar...its a tad bit complicated to learn at first but once you get used to it, it is one of the best mods in game.

as for other mods this is prolly one of the best sites to get em...

Insomniax FTW! It combines a lot of the best UI elements out there. With everything enabled, it's a bit cluttered, but there's a lot of useful stuff in there. Stuff like Lootlink and Enchantrix save so much time. So much easier than going onto allakazahm just to look up the stats on an item.

You are mistaken.

The only sort of 'mods' that are illegal are the third party executables. 99% of mods are simple addons to the main client and are very legal - they just make use of features already in WoW. In the couple of cases where they have done something blizzard didn't want (the unattended travel mod) blizzard has actually changed the client code to stop it working rather than rule it as illegal.

As for good ones... It's about 6 months since I quit WoW so my memory is a little hazy but here are some I used and considered essential:

Titanbar
Flexbar
CTRaidAssist
Decursive (paladin/druid/mage/priest essential)
Auctioneer
Bankitems
Goodinspect (increases inspect range, allows you to inspect the other faction)

That's all I can remember for now, they're all worth looking at. The site I used to use was http://ui.worldofwar.net

Insomniax's action bar setup has 10 bars, with I think 12 slots each. The bars can all be moved around, stacked, hidden, changed into differrent shapes(like instead of a straight row of 12, you can have 3 rows of 4) etc. That should work.

download and put the files in your Interface/Addons folder under the WoW folder....as for if it will just work it depends which mod you are talking about...

also in the character select screen there should be a button on the lower left i think that says Add Ons...click on that to turn on/off the mods

Flexbar is all you'll ever need for bars... It's so customisable that there's virtually nothing you can't do with it. You can even script buttons so they only appear in certain situations.

/flexbar show button=1-100
/flexbar group button=1-100 anchor=1
/flexbar verticalgroup group=1 width=10
Position them
/flexbar lock group=1

So far as I remember.

put it in the AddOns folder under interface...the in the character select screen click on the addon button and turn it on.

as for flexbar being complicated its not really simple commands like

/flexbar show button=1-20 will bring up 20 buttons that you can move around anywhere... if you want to group them just type

/flexbar group button=1-20 anchor=1

thatll group all 20 buttons together the anchor means that button #1 can be moved around and all the other buttons will move accordingly to that one.
