Those who have created their own cases

I was interested in maybe building myself a case with a built in 3' bong cooler, resevoir, etc, out of Acrylic or maybe something else if that's too difficult. What materials would you recommend using? I have absolutely no experience in this field, but I'm good working with my hands and putting functional projects together.
