Why does Catalyst Drivers take so much resource?

I have the Cat 6.2 Drivers installed and it is hogging about 30 Megs of memory!

I have like 4 CLI.exe opened, and ati2exx has another 3 opened. Is there anything I can do? :shrug:

shut them down and use ATITOOL to set clocks, you'll go back to the regular drivers controlling it real soon lol.

I wonder why ATI drivers in general use more ram than Nvidia drivers it seems like a fully setup win2k with Nvidia is about 60 megs of ram being used and a fully setup ATI is around 96megs of ram being used

I find the CCC drivers have improved bigtime since the 9800pro days, now with proper driver support for x1900's it all seems rather trivial.

I use the CCC because it only OC's my 3d, and not my 2d.

Is there a way I can OC my 3d only in ATITool?
