this is probably better in the cooling section but the best at the moment is the swiftech or sk6

I've had luck with the Millennium Glaciator.

You'll have more luck (getting an answer) in the "Cooling" topic....

(Away, to yonder lands, O faire post! Away!)

Whooooosh!

mr b... that was... disturbing ;-) hehe
but yeah, i too like the glaciartor. not sure how the glaciator 2 compares to the original one, but they are like $33 and $20 respectively, so good performance at low costs, especially on the regular one. might pick one up myself in a bit ;-)

Depends on your M/Board?

But if it will fit it has to be the Alpha 8045.
I have one & am really impressed.

Better than the Swiftech.?

The Alpha 8045 and Swiftech's 462 are awesome units- both very large and heavy- in the Swiftech's case, fairly expensive too. Great for serious overclocking if there's room for them on your board- but if you pack it to lan parties be ready to take off your heatsink and fan everytime you move it around, or risk tearing up your system- just too much weight there. Both of these are last, best bets before going to water cooling. If you don't need this kind of hardcore cooling, take a look at Swiftech's MCX370- it's a great unit with a superb mounting system and comes with the Pabst fan which is an excellent compromise between good cooling qualities and noise level. Perhaps the only all aluminum unit that seriously competes with copper, it won't try to tear your motherboard apart if you toss it in the back seat of your car and head off to a buddy's house. A great heatsink in itself, you can always opt for an adapter and a serious (Delta) 80mm fan for more chills without constantly looking for the military jet that's causing all that racket...
Availiable for under $40..
another 2 cents for your piggy bank...
