what the hell, where are all the good old settings in winxp for like networking? the ones where u can select your gateway, protocols, clients, ect. where did those go? and where is the setting for dma in winxp? and my damn scanner wount work my provider doesnt have win xp drivers for it, is there any hope? and also quake3 is dim and u can hardly see anything while playing cuz its so dark!! and driver wount even play!! is there anyway to fix this crap? if not then im switchin back to win98se.

i found all the networking settings and the dma and all, but why wount driver and quake 3 and my scanner work?

do you got the xp drivers for your graphics card cause i know that when i had xp on my system the opengl drivers and directx drivers that where in the 2k pack didnt work for my card so OGL and DX didnt work.

which meant i couldnt play quake3 becuase of the fullOGL req.

which isnt your problem i know, but it could be related.

as for the scanner, youll just have to wait for the drivers, if its a major company it shouldnt be long before they come out.:)

well my graphics card just came out with drivers for it.

so try you cards site and see if they have driver ups

i have the latest detenator drivers for my tnt2m64 i downloaded the ones for winxp. other games like delta force 3 landwarrior work great.

well ill assume youve tried to go into the screen options and increase the brightness or whatever they call it.

and that you have the latest patch for q3.

hmmmmmmmm i was thinking, you can test DX in sandrasoft right, and it will tell you whats working and whats not.

hmm wondering if they have the same thing for OGL.
maybe ill check it out when my vd conversion is done.

I'm not quite sure what you're asking...but Xp comes with the latest version of DX (run "dxdiag" from the run command on the start menu to check it).

I'd assume that if your install is good, you need the latest drivers for your video card . Of course, since you said you already have the latest drivers installed, the next thing I would check is the opengl driver.

If I remember correctly, Q3 works fine on my Xp Pro system. I think it must be something with your setup, and not the OS.
