User File Access! Need Help!!!!!

is there a way to access a xp user account with out logging in to that user?

this is the situation.
my computer suffered very violent power surge and i have since rebuilt. So now i am trying to back up my user files (ex: my music, my pictures, my videos) but what i have to do is slave my hard drive off my room mates PC so that i can back it up. i would relay like those files back.

can any one help me please.

all right never mind guys I DID It!!

so basically what i did was went into safe mode and modified the sharing and security account which gave me the choice to select which user had what permissions on the file. but thank you all for at least trying or Even reading if you have any other questions just ask.
