I was just wondering how do i paint my drives black? My case is the alienware black case, and my cd-rom driver, floppy, etc are the good ol ivory white color. So can i just use like permanant marker and color it :D Or is there a more professional way like spray painting with some special paint?

well, you could take the front bezel off all your drives then go buy some pretty high qualtiy spray paint and paint then.. it all up on what you want to do..

I just used some regular spray paint with some gloss coats and primer to paint mine. In case you are wondering, the front plastic covers of teh drives pop right off so you can paint them. Except i encountered one problem, when i tried to pop off the plate form my Cd rom drive, the tray held the cover back. So i don't know how you could paint that.

hmm.. any suggestions on some "good paint". I've heard of some ppl using some Testors model paint, like the stuff they paint car models with. Or does something like an enamel work better?

I used plain ol' Krylon Rust-Tough Enamel on my drives and it works just fine. :) Figured out how to remove the drawers from my two CD drives and painted them and the faceplates.

i use regular spary paint to paint my drives silver to match my coolmaster case. it worked really well my only problem was with my digidoc i had to tape up the LED window so tape up everything your don't want to get painted. It works pretty good and as long as you don't have to use bery many coats it shouldn't chip.

I picked up a mini can of Krylon silver and it worked great on my drives. Just cover up your drive LED's.
