I was trying set up my uncles DSL with this router and I couldn't get it to work. The WLAN light didn't turn on when I plug in the router and neither does the M1 (working) or M2 (defective) light. I brought this thing home and plugged it in and it immediately worked so I was like okay I'll just give him my Belkin wireless G router and keep this one. So I unplugged it again so I could clean up the wiring and now it doesnt work again! Same problem as I was having at my uncles house. I can get the internet to work on Lan but not on wireless. When it was working 192.168.0.1 would get me into the DLink settings but now that it's not it sends me to my DSL modem, 192.168.2.1 does nothing. With my Belkin, 192.168.2.1 sends me to my router and 192.168.0.1 sends me to my modem. I don't know what's the deal with this DLink but I have another friend that has owned 2 DLink 624 and he has problems with both of them randomly disconnecting him. I thought DLinks were supposed to be good and Belkin was the crappy brand? I've actually owned two Belkins (1 wireless B and 1 wireless G) and they've worked perfectly for me.

I guess what I'm saying is if you're looking for a router don't get a DLink!

EDIT: forgot to mention when I was at my uncles house I tried to reset it but it did nothing and when I brought it home i could actually reset it. now that it's having the same syptoms it was at my uncles house i cant reset it anymore. this is one moody router..

It sounds like both your modem and router have an IP of 192.168.0.1. That's a problem for sure. I would hook up a computer to the router (and not hook the router to the modem) and change the IP of the router to something new. (E.G. 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.100) Then shut everything thing down. Power up the modem. Connect and power up the router. Connect and power up any computers you wish.

I'll give that a shot. Hopefully I can get into the router, it was giving me lots of trouble yesterday.

I changed the ip address and that still did nothing. I flashed the routers firmware also and that makes it a little less moody but it still only works for an hour or two. I'm gonna see if I can get DLink to replace this thing for me.
