What a chip Intel has produced here, a sl5qv/malay. didn't get the stepping before I installed my pep66 for the last time. and I've got a good install so I'll not be taking it off for a while.
So far I've been able to run seti and loop 3d mark (at the same time) with out it locking up, this is at 1.85 v with the pep66 has a 26 cfm ys tech on it and I have only one intake fan plus the psu fan to exhaust.
under load this thing is maxing out at about 50 degrees with an idle of about 35-36 degrees. I'm thinking of a new HSF but I don't want it to be any louder than this set up already is. So I'll take any suggestions on a good replacement.

What speed do you have it running at? You didn't post that. I've had mine up to 1333 on my old BH6, but the board can't handle that speed due to the lack of a 1/4 pci divider. I was cooling it with a lapped hedgehog and delta screamer, it wasn't too loud with the case closed. Also, you might want to try a couple of things before you change coolers. It would help a lot if you installed another 80 mm case fan to exhaust air from your case; it might help get temps down. Also, you might want to lap your pep66 if you haven't already; I have 2 alpha coolers and found that both of them had some machining grooves left in the base. Lapping seems to have helped both of them in heat transfer. The only copper-base cooler that I've used so far that I've been satisfied with the factory finish is the Swiftech MC462 that I have.

I had my wife order me a Soyo 6BA+100 for 1 of my christmas presents for my flip chip 1000E and it's going to be a b1tch to wait that long!:D

I sure did gap on that post, it's at 1333, or 1342 as posted by mbm 5 and 1.34 by sandra, I think i'm gonna add another fan to the back of the case to help get rid of the heat as recomended. and i've not yet lapped my pep66 but i think it's in order.

Well I ordered a Swiftech MCX370 to which I'll install the ys tech 26 cfm (or possibly the 30 cfm ys tech in my closet) from my alpha and a couple of panaflo's for intake and exhaust.
This is a little out of my comfort range, right now my system is at 52 degrees with seti running in the background at 1.85 core voltage and 3.45 io voltage.
