Ok I really am losing faith in blizzard north (the company). I played on a crappy comp but it was managable. I got to about level 46 and just ditched the game. It was the boringest grind i've ever played. It was the same crap over and over "Deliver this horse leg" , "Kill 12 mosquitos".

Did these guys really try hard with this game or did they use their prestigious "Blizzard" name and slap on their franchise Warcraft characters running in 3D and call it a MMORPG? Crank out 15 bucks a month from every sucker and laugh all the way to the bank.

I uninstalled and reinstalled about three times trying to "force" myself to like the game since I had so many friends playing it. I just couldn't get hooked.

Did they really have to use the same icons they had in Warcraft3 and rename them?

Seriously, it felt like I was working for Fedex. This has got to be the most overrated game in the world. Does anyone feel different?

It gets very boring after to reach 60, even with a few alts. I've even done the MC, Onyxia thing and I still find it boring. My subscription is up in March, so happy trails Blizz. Even with the next expansion coming out I still no longer feel like playing it.

Don't get me wrong, it was fun lvl'ing a few chars to 60 and had a blast making friends, but eventually it gets old (at least for me) and as of late I have no faith in Blizz customer support, if you read their official forums you will see many are like that.

I think the main reason WoW is so popular is that fact it has the name "Blizzard" behind it, plus the fact that compared to other MMORPG's, it's extremely easy to pick up and get started. Not much of a learning curve.

That's exactly how I've felt of every MMO I've played , ESPECIALLY my (very) brief expierience with lineage 2.

I loved everquest (yes I'll admit I was flat out addicted to the game) but I tried WoW twice, once in the open beta, and once when they were giving out 14 day free trials. Neither time I could get into the game and you know and justify buying it. It just seemed kinda boring to me.

I have a love hate relationship with WoW. I love the game, the ease to pickup, and the skill related gameplay. I also love the story, the itemization and how epic it feels. However the time its taken from me is something I hate and even dying sometimes I dread. Its frustrating but I love it anyway.

That's pretty much what MMOs are about...there is no happy medium.

I enjoy the lame quests. The progress i feel by leveling is what keeps me going. I guess i'm a sucker!

But seriously, PVP and high-end instances are where it's at. There is nothing more fun than running around killing people (yea, i like to ruin people's day).

LOL, what an a hole lol. You are the guy that every nube hates and dreads coming upon lol. I remeber getting into the original Diablo and haveing some leveled up ahole come along and kick the crap out of me, what a bummer that was. I soon learned to buddy up with people that took pitty on me so that I too could level up. Take pity on the nube lol.

Hmm, I wish they'd implement an EVE Online esque bounty system. "Hmm! I'm gonna kill a noob!"

*noob notifies "police"*

Police offer bounty.

noobkiller gets killed :) Tada!

SRO (http://www.silkroadonline.net/) is all I got to say. I have WoW and it got boring faster than most MMORPG's. Dunno why, it just did.

why cant they make a modern game as awesome as Ultima Online. That game was by far the best MMO to date. Until they started adding and adding crap.

I have played everquest 2 - Lame
I played Guild wars - alright - i love the freeness
Everquest 1 - i didnt even last a week - worst one ever
Wow - i played 3 days on my friends computer - fun game, i wont spend $15 a month though

Hearing about what you guys said I might just purchase Final Fantasy 11 and it's expansion's now see what that's like. I was looking at the GameSpot review 2 days ago boy what the guy dribbling over it the graphics the idea of making friends etc etc.

I'm shouting at my screen saying EXCUUUUUUSE ME MATE IT'S LIKE BEEN DONE BEFORE for example Diablo 2 graphics where good in it's days but online you make friends. EverQuest 2 I think that among the same lines also the up coming Might & Magic 5 (Which I won't now buy thanks to that StarForce program).

There are actually quite a few games in development that are more like Ultima Online, the problem is that they seem to all be run by small companies. I guess that is both a good and bad thing. Good because they aren't all caught up in greed yet, and they seem to be interested in making a decent game (OSI pre-EA), but bad because they just don't have the funding/staff to make the game be as good as it could be, or make the game at all for that matter.

MMOs fit some people more than others, some people like wow some people don't, if you don't like wow, don't pay for it, problem solved

Amen brother. They all suck donkey nuts in that regard, regardless of what fans of different MMO games may say. WoW is just the easiest grind, so consider yourself lucky and stay away from MMORPGs.

ps when you see people making claims like "EQ is fun" or "CoH is a blast" or "FFXI is so much better" or "ACII isn't like that" etc... (in regards to your initial post) your BS meter should go off. All MMORPGs have craptacular grinds... with the exception of ACII, for good reason:D

I have roughly 25ish days logged into WoW. I quit for awhile then went back for a little over a day, made a NE priest. Researched the whole deal had a great setup in mind. Got to level 20 and just said this is taking way to long.
Not to mention it just feels like work instead of having fun. Who wants to pay to go to work? For the most part the fun doesn't start until you get to lvl 40-50ish. After that I spent hours just going around killing lowbies and ticking everyone off. That got old after awhile though, then bg got old, the guild got old, the insane amount of runs for items, everything got old and it felt like work again.

So I went back to playing Resident Evil 4. Hands down the best game i've ever played, except for warcraft 3/starcraft maybe. Online is what made those though. Went through it three times. The third was just a super fast run through with the chicago to see if I get anything but didn't. (The only thing that gets me everytime is those cursed snakes hiding in barrels and what not). I wonder if you beat it without loosing any hp would you get anything?

I'm probably gonna buy the remake of Resident Evil 1 next. Can't wait for my sweet Mario DDR to arrive in March/April and the new Zelda in Fall.
I've for the most part decided not to even bother with PC games unless I hear about a LAN party.
