I was just wondering if there was a prog out there to find your max o/c settings for your pc including ram and other bits......like ATI tool is for your gfx card...

just wondering.... :confused:

For the Memory MemTest+ 1.86 will allow you to change your mem timings while in a "DOS" mode & see how far it'll go.

Asus has something to OC from the windows desktop but I don't think anyone uses it.

Is clock gen one?

Also, I know it might be time consuming but the prefered method is through the bios.

Check with your motherboard manufacturer.. I have an albatron board and they have a utility that tests/finds the maximum overclock for my CPU in the same fashion that ATi tool does for my vid card... works really well i can overclock in windows or use that to test my max setting and set the clock in my bios

Yes clockgen is one, but make sure that the clock chip is supported. And bios changes are usually the way to go, unless you are stuck on a machine like dell, hp, etc.
