whats the best way to route the tubing on an sli system, I've got extra tubing and was wondering if I should try to get some 90 degree fittings coming out of the top maze4 and do the same in the bottom, or just try to bend the tubing. I was wondering if the fittings would restrict more flow than just bending the tubing or what the best way to run them would be. I'll be running a storm waterblock, 2 maze4 low profile blocks and d5 pump and bip3, I've already got it together and running but with an apogee block and one maze4, running tee line>pump>radiator>cpu block>maze4>tee line.

Having the 90d fittings would be pretty restrictive. I'de recommend just bending the tubing. It's a tight bend if you're planning to use it on the ultra-d board, but it's possible. Just make sure you have some smart coils to help prevent kinking.

what do you mean by smart coils? are you talking about the coolsleeves that swiftech sells?
Yes I believe those are the ones he is refering to.

yeah they changed the name haha.

do they make them for 3/4" od tubing, I can't seem to find them, biggest is 5/8

The 5/8 fit just fine on 3/4od. I have them on mine and it does its job.

cool thanks
To get around the bends, I went:
gpu1 > cpu > gpu2
temperature was never an issue with the bip3.

whats the best way to route the tubing on an sli system,Two ways to tube SLI.
1- Use 2 3/4" 90's, heat up the tubing in boiling water and it will slip on.
2- Fill a 1 foot length of 1/2" PVC ( the gray stuff used for underground sprinklers works best) with sand (dry! very dry!), cap both ends, heat it up over a stove and bend it around something with the correct radius
There is also the 2 feet of tubing method...wrong
And the CoolSleves method...ugly

how restrictive are the 2 90's?

Pretty restrictive.
I say just get some cool sleeves if you have to. Dont use the 90 degree elbows
where do you see 2ft of tubing?

I think it was a suggestion, not a sight. I could be wrong.

I think I may just get a small section of reinforced tubing as I need to get this together on wednesday and won't have a chance to wait for ordering peices off the internet as long as home depot or lowes carries it. I wish I could find some of this stuff

but I have a feeling I won't come accross any of it.

If you're in a bind for "coolsleeves," just take the spiral outta a cheap organizer (you can usually find them at the $1 store). They seem to work just as well.

Pretty restrictive.
In a Storm + 2 x GPu + BIP3 a few oversized 90 degree fittings is the least of your worries.
The third way is to melt the tubing. Boil some water, put a length of tubing in for about 20-30 seconds, take it out, bend it, and put it under cold water. You can make very clean bends with 1" radius when careful. Only some tubing melts well though. Clearflex doesnt, nor does homedepots crap. Some tygon does.

well I got some steel reinforced tubing at a local hose supplier. This stuff will bend to a 1" diameter without kinking.

You better make sure you clamp those things down real tight

Will do, I figured I could get that today and it looks decent. :p

well that stuff is way to stiff and puts much more tension on the cards than I want to so I just ordered some coolsleeves and some new tygon tubing that is supposed to have a bend radius of 1.5" so I may not even need the coolsleeves, but I'll have them if need be.

Another reason why melting the tubing is a good idea. Form the tube so it puts 0 stress on any of the barbs/blocks/cards. Coolsleeves aren't going to help that.

are you saying that setup is too restrictive?

No a D5 with that setup will do fine. There probably aren't any 1/2 setups that can fit in a case and will cause a pump to stall :D
I'm say that with all that in a loop, namely the storm block, there is so much restriction that adding some 90 degree fittings is going to make little to no changes in your flow.
Don't worry you'll still get great temps. At any flow rate the storm rocks and that BIP3 is a big boost.

cool, thanks, I haven't run the storm yet but hoping to drop temps alot from my appogee.
