Hey,
Im having trouble with my X-fi Xtrememusic sound card and Halo.
When I get into a warthog sometimes the sound like cuts out for the warthog engine, other times i get only 1 part of the warthog sound effect, which is a deep grunting/hummin sort of sound, kinda like the grunt/humm of a V8/12 engine... but no other sounds, then after a while they will come back... and then drop out again if I turn or something that shifts the sound to a different speakers.
I have Logitech z5500s, and set for 5.1 in the X-Fi console, in game mode.
All my DX drivers are upto date 9c, i have reinstalled them.
In the Creative console i have CMSS-3D sound enabled and set to stero xpand. Upmix is set to auto. Stero envelopment is set to 62%, and they are all the options i have under CMSS... I have the 24 bit crystalizer enabled set at the default middle value.
Under the speakers option i have 5.1 set and i have sync with control pannel checked. Under bass i hvae nothing enabled.
The sound card works fine for all other games/music but there is a problem with Halo.
Could it be a conflicting setting with DD etc???
I had no problems with my onboard nvidia nforce4 AC97 using the nvidia drivers... I have removed all old sound card drivers (AC97)...
Any Ideas???
Thanks
NW
