View Full Version : Battle.net confusion
Im so confused, i just got Starcraft and Brood war and both are installed. I've got it patched and whatnot, but when i go to multiplayer mode and choose battle.net i am only able to connect to the east US server about a third of the time I wont even connect but when I do and choose to create a new account i wont download the terms of use agreement and i havent the slightest idea of how to fix it. Im in confusion up to my eyeballs, someone help me?
Anyone, have any solutions? or ideas, theories? anything?

Using a router? Trying going direct from the modem. Disable your fire wall. The game wans a port or two open but I can't for the life of me remember been to long I guess. I had to put my computer (goes through a router) in the DMZ zone to host games BTW.
Oh and do play through the game at least once BEFORE you go on to Battle net. You will be OWNED (sorry to tell you this) till you learn to build quickly. And yes it is a skill that takes a long time to learn. Save the replays and watch them to see how the other guy beet you. Don't play Human, their harder for unskilled builders. Protoss (AKA "Toss") is a a good choice to start. Learn them well then move to Zerg and finally to Human.
Beware theirs lots of hackers that play that game. Best hack is the map hack that revels the game hole Bord including YOUR position form the start of the game.
Random speculation but, for some odd reason whenever I launch SC from the auto-play window it never connects to battle.net. It only works if I use the desktop/start menu shortcuts. BTW be prepared to get stomped when you play on battle.net. The only people on any more are the hardcore SOB's that stack teams and would rather die than let some one else win.
it should only take him a month or two to get a hang of the game online as long as he stays away from the money/ums maps, etc.
