My current main PSU (Enermax Noisetaker 480W) doesn't seem to like the high startup voltage that a Vapochill XE demands, so I have hooked up the Vapochill and Waterchill to a second old FSP 250W PSU that seems to run them fine. Currently this is rather an ad-hoc job, the second PSU is simply shorted so that it is on whenever it has mains power. I want to rig both to the case power button, but I was wondering, should the Vapochill be turned off at the same time as the rest of the PC, or should it keep running for a while? Can I simply solder together the power on lines from the two PSUs and plug them both into the same ATX connector, or is something fancier like a time delay circuit on the second one required?

You can turn the vapochill off at the same time as the rest of the pc w/out problems. There isn't really any practical advantage to cooling the chip for a few moments after it is no longer drawing power.

Does your vapochill have a controller? If so it makes things really easy to run two PSU's together and automatically have one boot the system after the vapo has had a few moments to cool down.

Basically having the case power button turn on the Vapo and its psu and then have the vapo turn on the system's psu.

Personally I'm lazy so I just have my second PSU on a toggle switch from Radioshack. Call me crazy but I love toggle switches, especially the ones w/ the safety guard :)
