hey, I just did a clean install of win 2000 from win me. I have the powercolor gts2 pro. Under win me when i installed the card and drivers there was a utility that i can't remember the name of or how it got installed on my system but the icon in my tray was a little red square with a diaganal white line through the middle. This utility allowed me to get at the clock speed and voltage settings(i think)(i never tweaked 'em). Anyone know what i'm talking about or where this thing went. I cant get to any worthwhile advanced properties anymore!!!
Also for some reason my DVD is playing all choppy and slow.
I bet the first question will be "what drivers are you using?"
I'm using the v21.83 for XP/2000 from the nvidia site.
ASUS A7A 266
AMD 1.4 TBIRD @ 1.4 hahahahaha
512 MB
SB AUDIGY XGAMER
POWERCOLOR GTS2 PRO 64MB

thanks, i have tried to install the drivers off the provided disk a couple of times to no sucess. I think it may be because i switched platforms and the utility wont install on win 2000. I may have to go back to win me.
I have the same prob. but I did a fullt install not a uppgrade.
I am thinking of installing WinMe with vidcards and all the necessary drives and then uppgrade to XP.
I have a frind who did this and his system is working perfect.
But it is a lot of work:mad:

good to know another has the same problem and that it is probably a platform problem not personal incomptatance.
I was told by a friend that win 2000 sucks for multi-media apps and that may be why my dvd plays choppy.I think i'm a gonna switch back to win me.

the reason you got choppy dvd is cause you prolly dont have your harddrive and dvd rom set to dma mode. To put them on dma mode in win2000, right click on my computer > properties > hardward tab > click on device manager. Then under IDE Controllers, check the propterties for the primary and secondary IDE controllers. Under advanced setting youll see transfer mode, and you wanna make sure that its on DMA.
