i just got an ultra x-connect 500w off of ebay. my computer just rebooted itself after a few hours and i got the standard "windows has recovered from a serious error". it said that it was a problem with unknown drivers. im just wondering if its windows or did i get a poopy power supply?
It may/may not be the power supply. I wouldn't jump on it just yet. Is this a constant error or did you just get it? If you never get it again I would say it's just a fluke. You can always do some testing to make sure it's not a stability problem. Run memtest 95 for a couple of hours and that should run out the memory. Then run prime95 for a few hours and check voltages not only with software, but also with a multimeter. Also check all your temps to make sure they are within spec. Last run a loop of 3dmark for a few hours to test overall stability and video card stability. If anything on the machine is flakey, these test should point it out pretty quick.

X-connects are basically generics, and Windows is not the best thing to run on Athlon 64s. Use a better PSU and Linux.
