does anyone know anything about flashing a radeon x800xl to anything else, like an xt or something? let me know.

It can be flashed to XT but with no gains.
Its funny thought, the XT has 480 core and the XL is 430 and they are still flashable....
Anyhow, its been done.

no reason to, and if you were to flash a r430 w/ xt clocks(520mhz or 540?) you would fubar your XL

why do you say i would screw it up, i can see the potential of screwing it up. flashing any bios is potentially detremental. if i wanted to do it, where could i find a good utility?

It just wouldn't be wise the R430 and its 110 nm non-low-K core cannot handle the speeds of the XT. And the majority of XL cards have no extra power connector and therefore run into a low power situation when trying to get them up to XT and XTPE speeds .

great way to kill your card..... XL cards can clock to maybe 480 on the core if you're lucky (mine did but it was a good one)..... certainly you can see what the problem might be here.
