Hi All,
I was wondering what kind of temps some of you are getting with a Sapphire X800 GTO Pro card with a ATI Silencer 5 cooler on it? I installed one on mine about two weeks ago and the temps are no better than I got with the stock cooler. Room temp is about 20c, ambiant temp is about 27c and the idle temp on the card is 33c. Full load is about 58c. I cleaned off the grease and applied some AS5 to the core before installing as well. All the screws seem to be pretty snug.
I was also curious if anyone has dumped the big heatsink that goes over the back of the card. I know it is needed to attach the fan and gpu sink but it just seems so bulky and with the way it hangs over the side of the card, it seems that it would just trap heat under it.
