Just wondering before i get a RAID card for my file server. I am asking because I might upgrade soem day to a server board with 64-bit.

I currently have a 64bit SunPCI Card(PC on a Card) plugged into a 32bit PCI Slot on my SunBlade 1500. It works just fine, it just doesn't perform as quickly as it could if I it was in a 64bit slot.

Yea thats what i was thinking since the 64-bit ones only have that extra tab. Can anyone else confirm that 64-bit card will work with 32-bit slots?

I'm fairly certain they would have changed the slot dimensions so they wouldn't fit if they weren't backwards compatible.

Looks like it can fit in a normal pci, well that extra tab will stick out but looks like it can fit.

"Compatable to PCI" (A horrible way to say Compatable with 32-bit PCI, but it is)

Make sure the extra half of the card won't hit your case or anything else, but yeah, it should work. It's got the right notches.

Ok so most any 64-bit will work with pci. Whats a good SATA card?
