i would say no. i have a tnt2 m64 clocked at 135/185 (gotta change that in my sig) and i play quake 3 and i get like 40-50fps. its fine man. plus u gotta a gefore 2 64 ddr so thats a hell of a lot better then mine. if i were in ur shoes then i would stay with it. unless ur pocket is overflowing with money.

I agree with Bmx. Right now you have a good card and there's no need to upgrade. If you have the money burning in your pocket then go ahead but I'd save it for when a new cpu or something that comes out later that you want.

in regular quake 3 its almost always over 100 fps
in q3 urban terror it hovers from 70-200

I think those scored are good since i get about 40-50 fps in q3. There's no reason that i can see for an upgrade;)

Perhaps you should spend the money on something else.
I've noticed, by looking at your sig, that you could use a 7200rpm HardDrive.

Just a suggestion tho.

defenitly 7200 rpm harddrive. if u have enough money get RAID.
EXAMPLE:
20 gig harddrive $100
20gig hard drive $100
RAID CONTROLLER $40
Total $240

gf3
total $350-400 (correct me if im wrong)

The 2 is a GREAT card and will be at that status for at least another year. Wait till a new generation comes out before thinking that one over(Like Geforce 4 or something).

hey, one other thing not mentioned - what kind of connection do you have to the web - that makes a big difference also..........if you only have phone but have cable available, you might wanna make the jump, which is most definitely worth the $200 modem...........otherwise, you look pretty set to me - i get about 60 fps online and kick some butt ok...............

that ultra is fine for right now, by the time it gets below 50fps in games the 8500 will be like 140$.......

As i said above my TNT2 m64 does ok for everything i want to do(gaming). Your card should do fine and you can always oc later if you aren't already. I'd keep it until you need a new one.

download a program such as nvmax, or coolbits, and raise the core and memory slowly until it artifacts at which point you bring it back down.....with your card the core clock ois fast enough but the moemory should be oced......the mx should last you a whi8le, as a rule i dont buy a video card unless its in the 130$ price range, and once the 8500 gets to that price i will get it....

both this question and the first guys can be answered easily.....

basically, are you satisfied? do your games run good enough for you? do any games you play run below par, or have any slowdown issues?

if your happy with your current gaming performance, then dont bother upgrading. if your finding it lacking, then maybe you should.

upgrading shouldnt be about "do i have the fastest card?", it should be about "do MY games run fine now?".

also look at your other specs. i know the jump from 5400 to 7200rpm hds is very nice, and a worthy investment. and like that other guy said, cable/dsl is great(i know i will never, ever go back to dial up).

look at your whole system, decide what is lacking(to you, not compared to the fastest system in the world) and set your goals on that.
