I posted this on dslreports.com and am still waiting for a reply. So I thought I bug you guys :P.

I been using Westell B90-210015-04 for over two years now. I have been using it with a D-link router with little or no problem.

Now I am setting up a smoothwall and would like to bridge the connection.

I followed the many guides here but keep hitting dead ends.

I connect my computer directly to the modem. I hit the rest button on the modem.

Unlike everyone else my modems IP address defaults to
169.254.172.67

I run ipconfig on my computer and it shows up like this

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection 3:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
Autoconfiguration IP Address. . .:169.254.172.67
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . .:255.255.0.0
Default gateway . . . . . . . . .:

When I ran Westell modem brower the
Multicast IP Address to send data to: 224.73.193.62
Modem IP Address: 169.254.172.67

I have tried searching the forums and every time I think I figure it out I end up at the start.

Thank you for reading this and for any information you may have.

I have tried 192.168.1.1 many time, many diffrent ways with many diffrent browsers.

I have also tried
169.254.172.67
192.168.2.1
192.168.1.1
224.73.193.62

Have you done a factory reset on the modem so that you make the modem start handing out DHCP addresses? Sounds to me like you have DHCP turned off on the modem. Which makes sense since you've had it plugged into a router.

I did a reset and when I use ipconfig /all is says DHCP is on

Do you mind cutting and pasting your 'ipconfig /all' for us?

I will when I get home.

I was informed that this verson of the router doesn't have a gui.
