it's me again.since there is really know way of overclocking my PIII 667 (i misstyped it last time. I said it was a 650) I flashed it with the new bios and now I cant even get the 667 mgz. now.no matter what I do. it is a gigabyte ga-6vx-4x it has a dual bios so I switched it back to the old one and its the same no higher then 620 mhz. theres no way of changing the voltage.and a lot of the programs that people tell me to get dont work with my motherboard. so if anyone can help that would be great.thanks

Download Sisoft Sandra and see your speed on there..

Your bios might not display the number ..

Like on my comp if you oc to 575 it'll show 550 but it's really 575.

What options do you have in your motherboard? Try something like 700 mhz ... see if it'll post 700 ..

Yodums has it right... the BIOS may be screwing up reporting your correct CPU speed. This thing reports 801 but it's actually 816 according to Sandra (I still need to update that). Many older boards used with slotkets and newer processors will report speeds of 000 Mhz instead of 1000 Mhz... and so on. It's certainly possible.

Reflash, or do a bios clear/reset using the jumper on your board.

It could seem like a bad flash but try reflashing it.
