Will a 1986 Chevette heatercore running with 1/2" ID tubing be able to cool an overclocked 3200+ winchester cpu and a 6600gt? I will be using 2x panaflow low fans running each at 68 cfm along with fan shrouds on the rad.

I agree, Chevette cores are a lot better than many make them out to be. Correct me if I'm wrong, but push-pull only gets like 1 degree better temp if that then just a fan pulling if it's shrouded.

I have a pretty craptacular pump and my 2.5 ghz 3200+ winny with watercooled chipset manages 33ºC full load with this core and only one fan at 7 volts. you can cram a lot of heat into this thing, it will take it just fine.

holy crap! those are awesome temps. In this case i'm going with both blocks, guys check out my other thread where i go from noob to slightless less noob with my home depot chevette heatercore mod

I'm not really sure, I can do tests tho if you want me to

but push-pull only gets like 1 degree better temp if that then just a fan pulling if it's shrouded. measuring in just degrees without mentioning the deltaT from ambient and blocks etc makes this harder to judge but on average 1-3C diference.

now if you run 120x 25mm cans on a thicker core this shows slightly more benefit to overcome smaller fans pushing through a thicker core ( personally i think with a BIX2 , 4x evercool aluminum 120 fans at 5.5-8 volts in push pull works outstanding for OCd CPUs and 6800s in sli )

will this chevette heatercore be able to cool a overclocked 3200+ winchester, and 2x 6600gts in SLI mode? Right now im getting temps of 32 degrees idle and around 40-42 degrees CPU load.

yes as voigt put it " all day long"
