As the title says, and would you like some Micron PC2700 512MB DDR Dimms with that?

p.s, I dunno if AMD will splash there site with this cpu tomorrow but you will definately be able to buy this processor from Pricewatch tomorrow!

I preordered mine already. I ordered from Monarch this time because they offer a 3 year warranty on oem cpu's.

Here is some news from amd on it.

*Will be released to sell late next week in very limited quantities. AMD will not release another XP Processor after the 1900+ untill next quarter (Q1 of 2002). AMD says the MP 1900+ will not be available for at least another month.

Dang. I thought the 2000+ was supposed to be out before Christmas. I was planning on the 2000+ to get a jump on Intel since the Northwood isn't coming out until Jan. now. Oh well.

You're gonna go intel? Or are you refering to AMD's Hammer?

If the 2000+ is coming out in Jan. also I'd upgrade to it instead of the Northwood. I think it'll atleast go toe2toe with the Northwood if not beat it and at half the price.

I think we've failed to mention that the Thoroughbred processors are comming out Q1 2002. I'm betting on the ponies!

I wish I would of known that the 1900+ 1.60GHz was being released so soon, then I would have waited a little while longer to get it instead of the 1800+ :( :( :( I bought my AMD ATHON XP 1800+ 1.533GHz at FRY'S Electronics more than 15 days ago and their return policy for CPUs is only 15 days from the original date of purchase. DAMN IT! I did go to FRY's today, which is Sunday, to find out that they don't have the 1900+ for sale yet.

I would think that amd will not be releasing anymore chips until after the new year in hopes that the economy will start to get better. Don't think all these good deals would be going on if the economy wasn't as bad as it was. :(

Welcome to the forums speed king.

I don't know how to break it to you but your sig is a wee bit long. I think there's some rule here about the length of sigs but maybee you could leave out a little bit of the less vital information (specs of your nic and such)

Awsome rig though:D

THe asking price for the 1900+ is very steep right now considering the price/performance ratio. I'd be patient and wait until the price drops a bit. Then again, the 1800+'s price will drop accordingly too. Performance wise, there is very little difference between the 1800+ and the 1900+. The best thing to do is wait for the next cpu that offers at least a 50% performance increase over your current cpu, unless you're on Bill Gates favorite relatives list:eek:

Don't worry youll do just fine with that 1800XP. The 1900 is only 1.6 and that is easily achievable with the FSB. I get 1.68 out of mine and a lot of others are getting 1.7 or better. Its a lot more money for only 60mhz.
