Do both ATI cross fire and nvdia SLI require both cards to be an exact match to work properly. Do the cards have to be the same brand and same spec. Also can you overclokc in either SLI or Crossfire.
Thanks

yes , Nvidia is working right now on some drivers that could support two same videocards but not from the same makers (like 1 EVGA and 1 Gigabyte)...

bit harsh in an ideal world you should be able to slap your 128mb and 512mb cards together and force the lowest spec one to do something gimp.

ATI's Crossfire works slightly different...
It requires a normal card and a Master card, instead of two identical cards.
So for example, if you want X1900XT Crossfire, you would need:
-A X1900XT (Any brand)
-A X1900 Master Card (Any brand)
So yeah. :)
Oh and yes you can overclock.
