Lately I have noticed that some of my users are receiving emails from themselves (spam) I have check my exchange server if its an open relay using telnet and it appears to be an open relay)

Here's the setting:
From the SMTP Virtual Server properties:
Access->Anonymous Access(checked), Basic Authentication(checked), Integrated Windows Authentication(checked).
Connection->(all except the list below-checked) with no entry at the computers field.
Relay Restrictions->Relay(Only the list below-checked), with no entry at the computers fields, the Allow all computer which successfully... of the list above (checked).

When I uncheck Anonymous Access I cannot send or receive external email.

How do I prevent my Exchange from relaying ?

cheers

What jaja said. You need to grant the SMTP host (mail server) relay permission.

You can also test relaying against mail servers with Relay Test Pro (http://www.snapfiles.com/get/relaytestpro.html)
