Would there be any reason to delete the core and let it get a new one? I know they changed a few things but I don't mind still getting 1000 frame villin's. What was changed and will it speed the WU's up? Thanks guys. Folding for Science!!!

It shouldn't speed the wu's up since your are dl'ing the same work. I am not sure what they changed but I think they attempted to fix the infinite log problem and the problem that was causing extra large work folders, sometimes over 40MB's in size. I think this was fixed, probably just by reducing the number of frames. I suppose that there could be a very small increase in speed due to the fact that it has to write to your drive a lot less, but it probably wouldn't be noticeable.

Cool thanks for the reply ploaf. if I did decide to do it all I would have to do is delete it. Right?

Pretty much. That's all I did in the places where I wanted a new core. I have both the old and new cores running on different machines.
If you are using the text only console you may want to get a new one of those as well. The 2.12 version of that console was released, I think yesterday. Replacing it is just a matter of dl'ing it and copying it into the same directory as the old one is running in. Just save the old one in case the new one doesn't work ;) I'd save the old core_65 too.

As for deleting the core. I remember reading somewhere else that someone merely renamed the currently running core_65 while it was running and then the client dl'd a new one automatically. It was enough to keep the old core running and then when the client searched for the core again after sending in the work it didn't recognize it and grabbed a new one. No disruption in the work that way. :)
