I am currently running a AMD 1.1G TB at 1.46 under Win2K Pro. My chip is running at 33 C. I am having problems trying to run at a higher speed. I have plenty of adjustment left on my FSB and Multiplier but it locks when I raise above the current settings. Any suggestions?

System:
KK266 Mobo
AMD 1.1G TB
256M 133 CAS 2
Peltier
Water Cooler
Voltage is at max at 1.86
Fan cooler added to the North Bridge
and then the usual....

My video card tends to hang if I go past 138 FSB. You may want to "test" the setup with the AGP down tpo 2x instead of 4x if you are on 4x. Also you may want to "skip" to the next higher multiplier. Some MB don't like certain multipliers.

Have you unlocked the L3 bridges yet? That can get you a little more voltage. Also try and down the FSB and up the multiplier. Hmmmm can't think of anything else right now but i'm still excited about the D-BACKS!!!

I thought that was the L7's.

You need more VCore to get more out of that CPU. I got a 1.1GHz 200FSB that wants 1.95 to get to were I'm at now.

Oni & ]-[itman - It's the L7 that controls the voltage but if you can adjust it in the BIOS the only effect would be a different DEFAULT value to my understanding. There have been posts that certain MoBos can be "convinced" to add more VCore if the DEFAULT setting were already maxed out, might work but not on all MoBos.

What exactly are the effects of unlocking the L3 bridge and will that require me to reset the Voltage in my bios? Sorry if I'm a bother but still learning.
Thanks, guys for all the help so far.

Look at Sonny's pic up there. Those are the different L7 bridges to connect and the different voltages you get from having the bridges connected.(sorry i wasn't thinking for a minute and said L3 but it is really the L7).

Thanks for all the info guys, I'll let you know how it turns out. I'm gonna wait until sunday before i make those changes to my L7. I have a Quake3 Tournament to goto this Saturday. With no extra parts around the house, I'm a little reluctant to do it before then.

Thanks again for all the information.

When you say "I have alot more FSB and x to play with" what does that mean. What fsb are you at now? What memory, vid card,usb's,etc.. are you using? There might be a number of reasons or things holding you back.
