Errr..

i need to know how to lock out my network shares so people have to put passwords in to access my network files is that possible? kinda like having to log on to view my network shared folders.

so kinda like when someone goes to VIEW WORKGROUP COMPUTERS and dbl clicks your computer name, i wanna make them login with a password and username..

Well, you will need either XP PRO with Simple File Sharing disabled, or Win2k. Then set the permissions on the folders and create users to access them.

EDIT: or you can hide your shares with a $ after the sharename. This will stop most people since you have to know the sharename to access it, but there are programs out there that will find the hidden shares.
