I don't see why you couldn't use 1 of the cD0 stepping P3 1000E or 1100E flip chips on your motherboard with a good slotket. The procs are clock locked so the jumpers on the motherboard shouldn't mean a thing as they will be overridden by the proc. Also, if that board supports any higher bus speed than 100, these chips overclock real well.

Hello YOB,
I see no reason to throw away that board, they ain't the greatest, but who is these days?
You are almost gauranteed to get the slot one to work, flipchips are a different story..I don't have experience with that board, but most late model slot ones will take a coppermine flipchip/sloket setup.
I don't see much difference in performance as far as quake goes between an 800 and a gig proc....I saw the best increases by adding raid 0, and getting a fast video card. adding good (really fast) memory also helps.
If you decide to get a slotket, make sure it will support the proc you want to use....ask the salesperson if it will support coppermines and tualitin cellies.
I think a 1.2g celly and a PIII 900 are about even with the possibility of the cellie having a slight edge.
Tough choices to make there bud.
Good luck in being happy with your choice, and I hope I helped in some way.

... Well its up to you but I dont recommend throwing it away if you can see you can sell it on Ebay for a good bargan and using the money you get to get a new mobo like the Asus CUSL2

I have the same board and will be trying a celeron 900 or FC-850 soon just to see if it boots,I'll try to get back to this thread soon ..good luck.....
The Sloket/fcpga combos are a crapshoot for older slot 1 boards.
Only try it if you know you can return the combo and get your money back, or most of it. I did this and the combo Asus sloket/piii850 didn't work on my shuttle hot 661p...I returned it and stuck a slot 1 700 in and I'm running at 933!!!
