just got me a soundblaster Audigy Platinum 5.1 sound card and Soundworks Desktop Theater 5.1 DTT3500 Digital, and they kick ass! worth the $750 CDN ($5 US) i paid for them:D:D:D!!
now i gotta go update my sig!:p

no, it wasn't a package deal. i got it @ a local computer shop called a-power (http://www.a-power.com). The soundblaster Audigy Platinum was $285 CDN and the Soundworks Desktop Theater 5.1 DTT3500 was $369 CDN (cheapest prices i could find), so all together with taxes it was $745 CDN ($467.85 US w/ current exchange rate). :)

just to let ya know www.anitec.ca and atic was cheaperwas cheaper for the same gear as they usually are

$280 @ www.atic.ca SB live! Audigy Platinum 5.1 Dolby retail

$349 Cambridge Desktop Theater 5.1 Dollby digital, 5 spks

total = $21 bucks cheaper free dvd on sale lol or a twelve pak

you can get the same gear at Creative`s web site both the sound card and the speakers for $449.98 plus shipping and handling.

Actually, a-power is cheaper. You are right about the audigy platinum being $5 cheaper @ atic, but i already knew that. But they are selling the same speaker system for $50 more than a-power ($420). and the $349 you were looking @ at anitec was for the wrong speaker system. the one i got is listed @ $379 (Cambridge DTT3500 digital speakers) @ anitec. Anitec is also selling the sound card for $4 more than i paid for it.

ya, but its only $17 cheaper probably less with shipping & taxes, and i dont order many things online (dont have a credit card) so i just get all my computer stuff from local computer stores.
