Hello,

I recently bought a 6800 card from ASUS and i'm pretty pleased about it.
I put the NV5 rev3 silencer and its working great.U unlocked all 16 pipes, and managed to OC the GPU to 433MHz (from Stock 325) but the memory won't go over 750MHz

When i removed the stock heatsink i wrote down the serial numbers on the memory and it said that it was made by Infineon, and the serial is:
HYB18T25632H-20

I can assume that 256 means 256Mb , and 32 means 32*8 configuration of chips, but i can't find any other info about it.

My main question is what speed is this memory rated to work on?
Anyone familiar with this?

Well thanx, bye.

Pretty sure that the -20 at the end stands for 2.0 nanoseconds memory speed. This would make it 500Mhz RAM (1000Mhz DDR). That is only the theoretical maximum however. Other factors like the voltage they use, the temperature and the overall quality of the chips can affect your OC.

For reference, you can get the theoretical memory speed by dividing 1000 by the nanosecond rating (in this case, 1000 / 2.0 = 500). If its DDR it would then be multiplied by 2.

OK, if it's rated to run @ 500 (1000Mhz DDR) why won't it go over 750?!?

I installed the NV silencer 5 rev3. so there should be no problems with overheating, and my memory is running @ about 44°C idle and 48°C load...

Is it possibile that ASUS did something on the BIOS or is it just bad memory?
